Existing Oracle DB Express Edition

Hallo,

I have installed ORACLE XE edition on a new Laptop in Windows 11 Home.

I had to uninstall the software but when I try to install in again, I get the message “There is an already existing Oracle Database Express Edition service in this machine”. This was because I could not log into the XE database with the password that I have provided during installation.

I have deleted the Oracle folders and even deleted some key data elements from the Windows registry (dangerous).

This did not resolve the issue.

Where can I look to try and remove the cause of this error?
