Excel file -> Creating a hierarchy (gen type) {Simple Question}

adi26Jul 28 2009 — edited Jul 30 2009
Hello,

Firstly, this is a rather simple question even though its long. I have just been descriptive. THANK YOU very much for your help.

I have an Excel file given to me which looks somewhat like this:

Generation 1 Generation 2 Generation 3 Generation 4 Generation 5 Generation 6 Generation 7
All Accounts
Income Statement
Eco Prof incl Good(Point in Time)
Eco Prof incl Good (Through the Cycle)
Net Income
Taxes
Pre tax Income
Contribution
Direct Profitablity

Generation 1, Generation 2, etc.. are all tabs I have a lot more listed. I do NOT have to worry about any properties or anything as of now. I just have to create a simple hierarchy and all nodes are going to be Global nodes for NOW (for simplicity)

I basically have to create a hierarchy on DRM 11 from scratch.

Q1: How do I create a DRM 11 readable format for this Excel file. Do I need to shift them to Notepad?

Q2: Can I do Generation Hierarchy Load on DRM or should I use a Parent Child format?

Q3: Either way can you PLEASE give me like a quick algorithm on how to do this? I just created a test working version on DRM and will use the import wizard. I would love a faster way to do this like thru the Automator or something.

Thanks.

P.S. An algorithm giving me step by step infor is really much appreciated.

My email is Aditya26@Gmail.com just in case.
