Exabyte 8505XL on SPARC Solaris 8?

Has anyone managed to use the Exabyte 8505XL(E) tape drive on a SPARC computer using Solaris 8?

Adaptec appears to have no SCSI controller that works on SPARC.
Perhaps LSI has a card that can be used in a SPARC machine with this tape drive and Solaris 8?? Exabyte tape drive use seems primarily aimed at x86 machines.
