Error with ntcontab.o (and ins_net_client.mk)

Hello,

I am currently re-isntalling oracle. I have come across an error that i received the last time i tried installing oracle. I ahve searched and searched but can't find a good reason why it fails and how to fix it.

Error is here
=============
error in invoking target ntcontab.o of make file

'/home/oracle/Ora_Home_1/network/lib/ins_net_client.mk' SEE

'/home/oracle/oraInventory logs/install........blah' for details.

That log file has this in:

bash-2.05a$ tail -f 30 /home/oracle/oraInventory/logs/installActions2005-02-22_06-38-20PM.log
tail: 30: No such file or directory
==> /home/oracle/oraInventory/logs/installActions2005-02-22_06-38-20PM.log <==
mv: cannot stat `ntcontab.o': No such file or directory
/usr/bin/ar: /home/oracle/OraHome_1/lib/ntcontab.o: No such file or directory
make: *** [ntcontab.o] Error 1

hmm, i have installed gcc, i have make installed so i don't know whats wrong. Perhaps it's my path or something?

any ideas anyone?
