Error while loading GUI in RHEL 4

We are getting error while trying to start gui in RHEL4,

If I do a init 5 then startx I am getting same error
Fatal server error:
Server is already active for display 0
If this server is no longer running, remove /tmp/.X0-lock
and start again.

What is the fix to this issue??
