Error while launching SQL Developer after installing Oracle 11g R2 version

Hi,

I have installed Oracle 11g r2.Post installation when I try to launch SQL Developer from Start>>Programs>.Oracle home>>Application tools>.SQL developer I got an error message like 'Cannot find SQLDEVELOPER.BAT..Missing Shortcut.

Then I followed the advise in the below link:

windows - SQLDeveloper will not launch - Stack Overflow

After installing git bash and modifying the shortcuts the error goes away but now when i click on SQL Developer a command prompt opens and closes.No Interface comes up.

Please suggest the fix.

I am running on Windows7 64 bit.
