Error REP_55035 - Cannot deploy, Source object [object] has name conflicts

Hi all,

I've been breaking my head over the following Informatica Powercenter issue. I'm hoping someone here can clear this up for us:

We're using Informatica Powercenter 8.1.1 SP5 (server on Linux) with version control enabled.

When deploying we get the following error :

[REP_55035] An error occured during deployment. Cannot deploy, Source object AP_INVOICE_DISTRIBUTIONS_ALL@OLTP has name conflicts*
*AP_INVOICE_DISTRIBUTIONS_ALL is an example, sometimes different objects are reported.+

As a work-around we've tried completely removing the target repository contents and doing an import from the source repository into the target repository (by using the Informatica Admin Console). We've tried this with the 'Restore as new' option checked and also with it unchecked.

After import we've tried the deployment again and it still gives the same error.

The weird thing is that if we do a folder compare (after exporting the source and importing it into target repository) we get:
Compare Summary:
Number of Differences: 146
Number of Similarities: 15240
Number of Outdated Objects: 45

Can anyone explain why there are differences (and outdated objects) after we just made a complete copy of the source repository, and how we might be able to work around this bug?

I'd like to contact Informatica directly with this issue but unfortunately we have to go through Oracle support for that because of licensing restrictions. Our experiences with Oracle support regarding Informatica Powercenter are less then optimal and because of the urgency of this issue I was hoping someone here might be able to provide some help.

Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Ralph
