Dear All,

I am getting problem ORA-12899 : value too large for column "TEST"."STUDENT"."NAME" (actual: 94, maximum: 79).
Evne thou the length of "Name" column is less than 79.

Infact I am getting the "Name" value from other data base, processing it in Java and then trying to insert the value in Oracle data base with the help of Hibernate, the length of "Name" is just 60 as I have checked in Java, before inserting this value.

Even after inserting the length is just 60 in Oracle too, as I can see. Then why is Oracle throwing this error at the time of inserting the "Name" field value??

Any body having any idea about the issue, please help.

Thanking you All.
