Error ORA-01078 after fresh installation of oracle

Dear all,

I installed fresh Linux operating system and right after installation i installed oracle 11gR1. Installation was successful however it prompt during installation that enterprise manager control could not be setup as there is no listener and you can set it up manually.

Now when i try to connect sqlplus and start oracle it gives the following error:

SQL> startup
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
LRM-00109: could not open parameter file '/u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1/dbs/initbssglbrpl.ora'

Its fresh installation i don't know why i am getting this error. Kindly help.
