Java HotSpot Virtual Machine

Hello,
I am working on a Sun machine and using "jakarta-tomcat-5.0.19". I was modifying a web application when I started getting the following error:
"Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap"

I cannot do anything, not even compile a file!!!!

I have run the command "swap -s" and the result is:
total: 660640k bytes allocated + 35824k reserved = 696464k used, 5736k available

Now, I suppose I don't have enough swap ... but I don't know a lot about Sun machine management and less about how to increase it and of how much!!!!

Please, help!!!
