Hi there, I expect this is going to be simple, but have not found anything yet on a quick search.
I'm trying to install Oracle 10G on a new server loaded with Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.6 (Santiago)
As far as I can see the mount points etc match an existing environment where the install works.
The top level for / did not have full permissions, so they have been amended (to 777 as a last resort) but error still shows -

I tried setting TMP and TMPDIR to /tmp/ and /var/tmp - no difference
As Oracle I can create and edit a file in /tmp ok so it's something the oui is failing on.

Am continuing to research but am working on tight timelines so if anyone has any ideas, they are most welcomed.

Update - the oui is creating a directory within /tmp each time it is run -

but there is nothing within this.
My trouble is I'm comparing to 2 other servers where the permissions etc look the same and I've managed to install software ok. I know you shouldn't compare!!
