Error creating and application in HFM

Hi! Can anyone give me a hint on how to solve this problem: I successfully defined an application profile in HFM and when I went on to create an application I got the message: "There was an error retrieving the User Management project list. Please verify that a project exists". I logged into Shared Services and I found the HFM project under which several applications were listed created earlier by someone. So, I can't guess what I should do to be able to create my own application. Thanks in advance!
