Error BDB3016 pgin failed.

We have a running system installed on a customer site that uses BDB version 12.1.6.1.19
The system works continuously for days, and then gets an exception:
bsddb3.db.DBRunRecoveryError: (-30973, 'BDB0087 DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery -- BDB3016 E:\\Program Files\\Vaisala\\Vaisala viewLinc\\db\\hist\\2022-03\\channel\\db: pgin failed for page 481374')
We are still investigating the cause of this, and i would appreciate any help in tracking down the source.
For example, are there any know bugs related to this in 12.1.6
What kind of event would cause this error.
