ERDs: options for symbols/notation
Back in Mar 2002 there were some postings about a source for version 6.0 diagram samples....ie, http://otn.oracle.com/doc/des60/designer60diagrams.pdf. For updated vers 6i or 9i diagrams, they referred to a dump file - which wasn't workable. Have there been changes to ERD diagramming options from Version 6.0 (or can anyone state with certainty that they have not changed)? Is there a pdf file with sample ERDs for versions 6i, 9i?
If not, where can I find a complete depiction of the symbol/notation/relationship options for ERDs (or good sample ERDs) for Designer version 9i or 6i?
Specifically, I need to know about representation of:
relationships, basic entity, recursive entity, subtypes, attributes, cardinality, and optionality.
For example, in 6.0 there was no special symbol for an associative entity, is there one now?
Alternatively, is it possible to ONLY install the diagramming tool of Designer (without any other Oracle Product) to identify its notation capabilities? I would only need to create entities and relationships.
