ensuring there is a zero before decimal place

This is the PL/SQL statement...
if factor > 1 then
UPDATE tblParam
set MDL = c.MDL*factor
where paramid = c.paramid;
end if;
If c.MDL*factor is less than 1 I want to make sure it is displayed as...
0.xxx
instead of...
.xxx
Anyone?
