Enforcing strong passwords

First off, I'm a raw novice at this so please excuse any stupid questions. I'm using Sun One Directory Server 5.2 on Solaris 9.

I managed to find the password policy but was extrememly disappointed that it only allowed me to enforce password length and none of the other requirements (mixed case, numerics, special characters) for strong passwords.

Am I missing something or is this the case. Is there a way to enforce strong passwords?
