Ending balance to beginning balance

I'm sure I'm not the first to ask... Not finding anything tangible searching through the forum (at least quickly and I'm impatient.)

I want to move an account ending balance ("Dec") to the next year's beginning balance over a span of "x" number of years. Year and Period are separate dimensions. It's not dawning on me how to do this without hard coding the years or using subvars. I would like to recursively run the same sequence in a BR or calc to roll this forward for a specified range of years...
