End-User Finding 5.0 Java Application Cache Viewer?
843802Feb 25 2005 — edited Feb 26 2005So my understanding is that in 5.0 the Java Control Panel and Java Web Start Application Manager have been replaced by the Java Application Cache Viewer.
However, I do not see that the 5.0 install creates any of:
- A desktop ICON
- A start menu entry
- A control panel entry
to run the new application cache viewer.
How is a normal end-user supposed to run this?
I found it by looking in the install bin directory and running the javaws.exe file, but obviously that is not what we (or Sun) wants to direct end-users to do.
The install formerly (before 5.0) put a coffee cup icon on the desktop (to run Java Web Start Application Manager).
So with that gone, where is the user-friendly way to run the cache viewer?
Am I missing something? If I'm not missing anything, then we have a significant user-friendliness hole here, don't we?
