End-User Finding 5.0 Java Application Cache Viewer?

843802Feb 25 2005 — edited Feb 26 2005
So my understanding is that in 5.0 the Java Control Panel and Java Web Start Application Manager have been replaced by the Java Application Cache Viewer.

However, I do not see that the 5.0 install creates any of:
- A desktop ICON
- A start menu entry
- A control panel entry
to run the new application cache viewer.

How is a normal end-user supposed to run this?

I found it by looking in the install bin directory and running the javaws.exe file, but obviously that is not what we (or Sun) wants to direct end-users to do.

The install formerly (before 5.0) put a coffee cup icon on the desktop (to run Java Web Start Application Manager).

So with that gone, where is the user-friendly way to run the cache viewer?

Am I missing something? If I'm not missing anything, then we have a significant user-friendliness hole here, don't we?

... Roger
