Let me explain you the scenario before putting the question:
oraprod db user with oracle_db_version=9.2.0.8
applprod EBS 11i user, version 11.5.10.2
oracle user containg enterprise manager grid control agent version 10gR5.
emctl status agent
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Release 5 Grid Control 10.2.0.5.0.

EM Agent is running fine but it is unable to discover database PROD.

uid=220(oracle) gid=202(dba) groups=1(staff)

id applprod
uid=203(applprod) gid=202(dba) groups=1(staff)
oraprod and oracle users both have dba as common group.
Can anyone tell me what could be the problem?

inventory_loc=/home/oraprod/oraInventory
I believe the problem may be in oraInventory as this directory is perhaps unreadable by oracle...
