Dear community,
We are currently facing the following business case:
We are in the process of migrating from an existing EBS 12.2.X installation to ERP Fusion Cloud. Both systems — EBS (currently) and ERP Cloud (in the future) — need to coexist with various external systems (some custom-built, others third-party).
To ensure the operational continuity of these external systems throughout the transition period — from the go-live of the first company until the go-live of the last (which we preliminarily estimate will take about one year) — we are seeking insights from the community regarding how similar scenarios have been approached.
Specifically, we are considering the use of a pivot database containing key entities to serve as a masking layer, allowing external systems to continue operating during the transition. However, one concern that arises is the potential for duplicate IDs between EBS and Fusion Cloud, which could cause conflicts.
We would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who has faced a similar situation or can share relevant experiences or best practices.
Thank you in advance
