dynamic action doesn't fire on items changed with javascript

Hi,
i have created a dynamic action on a simple Text Field. The dynamic action has to fire on a change-event by this Text Field. Changing the value in the browser works fine. But if i change the value of that text field with javascript, the dynamic action doesn't fire. Is there a way to do this?
