duplication of records..

hi all,
i am using Forms [32 Bit] Version 6.0.8.24.1 (Production).
i am uploading data from the excel with the help of ole components.
now i want to check for the duplication of the records.
for example: in my case code,p_port,t_port are constraints,
if two records are repeating i should tell the user that for this code,p_port,t_port, record is duplicating..
how can i check for this..
