Dummy table

Dear Oracle Professional,

I'm newbie of oracle and I have a quick question which is about table.
I had installed oracle10g and when I drop a table and I run sql (select * from tab) it will showed a dummy table name like as: $BINxxxxxxxxx
Why is this happen?
Can I drop this table?
Can I disable it?
