Dual SCSI pci adaptor not recognised by solaris 9

I have Solaris 9 O/S installed on an enterprise 220, I also have a dual scsi adaptor installed with a Storedge D1000 connected to it, however when I do a touch /reconfigure with init 0 or boot -r or a probe-scsi-all the O/S only sees the 2 internal disks. How do i get the system to recognise the scsi card and the attached D1000 ??? IM going banannas here please help!!
