DS6.3 isMemberOf & Internet2 eduPerson/eduMember schema

Where the new 6.3 operational attribute ismemberof is now part of the default schema?
Our ldap schema included ismemberof, which was used to hold fully qualified static and dynamic group DN memberships for entries. Under 6.3, this attribute only dynamically populates the attribute with static group memberships. Granted, all our entries have an attribute for dynamic group membership, but we had applications that depended on the ismemberof attribute for both types of groups for simplicity.
We had to work around this by creating a customer "ourownismemberof" attribute, which works fine.
I guess my question is, why didn't Sun document this attribute and the migration issues it raises in the migration documentation, especially for Higher Education customers? Has anyone else run into this?
