Drop tablespace including contents and datafiles... still taking disk space

misterimranFeb 26 2008 — edited Feb 26 2008
Hello guys,

My Oracle Enterprise 10g release 2 is showing Dump Area Used (95). Disk space on the disk where oracle and datafiles resides is 95% full.

When i look at the tablespaces temporary tabslespace was taking like 10 GB and undo tablespace size was 24 GB.

I created new temporary and undo tablesaces.

Assigned the newly created temp tablesapce as default tablespace and alter system undo table space to new undo table space.

The physical files are delete from the oradata folder but disk space is still 95% is should have been reduced when a file of 24 GB and 10 GB was removed.

Please tell me what is the reason and how to handle it.

Regards, Imran Baig
