Drop database through command prompt

Hi,
im a newbie,using oracle 10g v(10.0.2.0.1) on Cent OS5,
Im trying to delete an existing database and import a new one. As i dont have a GUI environment im unable to use dbca utility,
can anybody guide me to drop a database safely through consol/command prompt
