DRM (11.1.2.4.344) Error when syncing CSS provisioning with DRM - Object reference not set to an in

I've followed the steps (Configuring Common User Provisioning ) to enable common user provisioning in the DRM configuration console.

I then provisioned some DRM roles in CSS to a user.

From DRM Web Client, I then clicked the icon at the top with tool tip - Common User Provisioning - Synchronize (see screen shot below)

I got the following error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
