download and installation of JDK 5 Update 7

hi
i am new to java
I am using windows xp
i wanted to know is JDK 5 Update 7 the latest version? or is it something else
I also want to doanload the corresponding documentation.

i tried the DOWNLOAD links in http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp.... but they doesnt seem to work

pls help me with the appropriate instruction and links
