domain index creation takes forever

Oracle 11.2.0.4 RHEL 6 x86_64

Creating domain index via

CREATE INDEX owner.index_name ON owner.index_name ("DATA")

INDEXTYPE IS "CTXSYS"."CONTEXT" PARALLEL 1 ;

hasn't moved since 14:57 yesterday, it is currently 12:38, pushing 24 hours. Help!

I have 32 CPUs, so I could change parallel to 64 since init parm parallel_threads_per_cpu = 2, this per the oracle docs.

Thoughts?
