Does the oracle text support the fuzzy substring search?
923401Mar 13 2012 — edited Mar 13 2012We have on columns which are regularly search on. It is mainly account type info where it is series of alpha-numeric data 80 bytes in length without any whitespace.
End users have placed a contains requirement on us. They want to be able to do a col like '%YZOKB%' search and return all the records containing this substring and the substring location in this column. Another problem is that we might have at least 200 million up to 1000 million candidate records.
Do you any one have experience on this kind of issue? I am not sure whether oracle text can do this before I engage in it? I am trying other tool like lucene.
