Does SQL Developer use xxx.svn-import-workarea and xxx.svn-import-backup

After I imported files into svn from SQL Developer, the action created two folders with the source folder(xxx) with names like
xxx.svn-import-workarea and xxx.svn-import-backup.
I checked online and JDeveloper seems to be using it. Does SQL Developer, too?
I actually tried deleting the two folders and found nothing seemed affected.
I'm new in using svn from SQL Developer. Could anyone confirm this?
