does freetds support Chinese with MSSQL?

does freetds support Chinese with MSSQL?
I have a ms sqlserver 7, having Chinese data stored in database. I want to access the database using pure-java jdbc driver.

I have searched the forum. no one can give a proper solution to the problem.

I download freetds driver. Use jdbc connection string like this: "jdbc:freetds:sqlserver://servername/database;CHARSET=cp936;TDS=7.0".
Chinese code page is CP936. but when I connect to ms sqlserver successfully, and get result set successfully, access the field value containing no Chinese successfully, but the field value containing Chinese characters is error-coded.

Is that freetds does not support Chinese? or the jdbc connection string is male-formed?
