Does BI EE HAVE to use cookies

I know the installation guide says 'Oracle BI requires that the internet browser is set to accept cookies. Oracle BI uses a cookie to track a user’s logged-on session' but I would like to know whether is would be possible to switch cookies off and still be able to run BI EE Presentation Services through a browser. Does anyone know?
