Does ASM Rebalance occur automatically?

I am curious to know if the ASM Rebalance occur automatically.

What events can cause the ASM Rebalance to be triggerd?

I understand, we can manually rebalance the disks in a diskgroup. I would like to know when this will happen automatically.
