Does a Database MDS always looks up for resources on DB?

Hi,

We are planning on using the MDS repository in our SOA Suite Envrionment but we have some concerns regarding how does the MDS works on a distributed envrionment.

What I mean is, seeing that our xsd and WSDL are stored on the database, how does SOA Suite manage to provide access to these resources? Is it buffered or each time i make a call to a Web Service exposing a MDS WSDL it goes to the db and lookup the wsdl file?
