Do people Rsync redo logs?

steelnwoolMay 25 2011 — edited May 26 2011
I'm working on my backups etc and right now it seems my redo logs get turned over every 6 ish hours. (My redo log set is 3 redo files each about 50 megs)

I have them multiplexed across 3 drives right now.

I'm trying to mitigate a complete utter failure of the system. As it is right now I can get my image file copies which are updated nightly out of my backup archive (bacula , on dedicated hardware) and I do plan upon writing my archived log files to a NFS destination so i can get those to roll forward. But then in that situation i'd still be out a few hours.

I have considered rsyncing my online redo files to a remote destination, but are there smarter/more recommended solutions?

Thanks.
