Oracle Database Discussions

Hello,

I am trying to install Client on my local mechine ( win xp ) , i am provided with tnsnames.ora file.

do i need sqlnet.ora file? to complete the connection.

I have installed Instant client , But when i am trying to invoke net configuration assistant , it does not running.

(I.e i can not see any welcome screen.) But I am able to connect to Database Using sqldeveloper.


problem here is 1 ) I want to create system dsn , which i am Unable to do
2) If i am trying to connect using sql*plus , unable to connect either.

Can you throw some light on it ?
