.dmp file

Im running oracle and windows on my computer Having created a some tables a friend of mine has sent me a file called backup.dmp ( its a dump of all the tables in his database as he has all tables and test data that i require).

Is their a way to either view the data in the file or to import the backup.dmp file into oracle ?

Im fairly new to oracle and have just been learning SQL so if someone can give me a step by step way of importing the file then please do so.
