Dislaying Logo in APEX Application

I have tried in vain to display a custom logo in my APex app. I have uploaded a GIF image to thr Imagr folder and pointed the Logo attribute of the Standard Attribute page to the uploaded image to no avail! Strange enough, when I point the Logo attribute to

/i/tutorial/sample/sample_app_logo.gif

I get the default Sample Application Logo as Logo of my application.
Can someone demonstrate how to successfully display a custom logo for an AEX app?
