Hi,
Forum category: SQL Developer
Discussion: https://forums.oracle.com/ords/apexds/post/defect-sql-developer-doesn-t-recognize-international-charac-4926
(Title: DEFECT: SQL Developer doesn't recognize international characters for Korean, Cambodian, and Farsi languages.)
It would seem the Original Poster mistakenly hit the Delete button… At least that's what I understand when he acknowledges “original post was deleted by mistake” in his new post on the same topic (link).
As the original discussion had been on for a couple of weeks, and had already received several relevant comments from at least 3 participants (@christopher-chatman , the OP, @thatjeffsmith-oracle , and myself), and considering that its deletion was accidental, could you please “undelete” it?
Thanks in advance.
Perhaps there could be a case for preventing this kind of mistake: as much as I value the possibility of being able to retract a comment (*)—and ultimately, being able to at least request deletion of one's posts/comments is a necessity—I think it should not be possible, even for the Original Poster, to delete an entire discussion, once it has received legitimate comments, without Moderators' approval.
(*) Retracting a comment is definitely not a recommended practice on a public Forum, but I have used it at least once, after (quickly) realizing that I was being completely wrong in a technical discussion; I could replace that erroneous comment with something better (IIRC), and fortunately, no one had been answering it in the meantime.
Best regards,
