We currently use Oracle Discoverer to deliver a large number of reports
for our Oracle E-Business Suite (R12) environment.
As Oracle has announced the end of support for Discoverer, we are now
looking for alternative reporting and analytics solutions.
The replacement solution should ideally meet the following requirements:
- Understand relationships between Oracle EBS R12 data
- Allow drill-down from GL Trial Balance to subledger transactions
(AR, AP, etc.)
- Integrate with Oracle EBS R12 security
- Provide audit trail for user access to reports
- Offer standard, out-of-the-box reports for common business scenarios
- Support ad-hoc reporting for advanced users
- Allow report templates to be created and shared
- Support scheduled and unattended report execution
In parallel, we are also exploring internal approaches and frameworks
such as Ecos-IA as part of our reporting modernization initiative.
We would appreciate feedback from customers or partners who have already
replaced Oracle Discoverer, as well as recommendations on suitable tools
or approaches.
