discoverer plus running slow compared to desktop

hi,

im running discoverer 4i and my report comes back in 10 seconds in discoverer desktop but in discoverer plus is taking over 30mins before i kill it. the dba said it was going in an infinite loop. but i dont understand why the exact same report runs fine in desktop. even the discoverer sql i can cut and paste in toad and run without any problem.
