Disconnect Connections Performance - Mac

JasonBatzlaffNov 30 2016 — edited May 3 2017

When I attempt to Close a connection (via right-click > Disconnect option), it can sometimes take a very long time.  This only happens if I had previously lost the connection.  In fact, even using the Reconnect option takes a long time (~3-5 minutes).

If I am currently actively connected, I can right click and Disconnect instantly.  But If I lost my connection (e.g VPN disconnected), then I have to wait way too long for the disconnect or reconnect to happen.

I am on Mac.  Using Version 4.1.5.21.  Build MAIN-21-78.  Not sure if it matters, but all my connections are setup with connection type = TNS.  And on Preferences > Database > Advanced, i have "Use Oracle Client" = Checked and "Use OCI/Thick driver" = unchecked.

If I am establishing a new connection...it is nearly instant.  I previously used the Windows version and didn't have these problems.  A disconnect/reconnect would be just as fast as a normal connect.

Anyone else see similar issues?
