Disaster recovery options

Hi there, I have an oracle 9 database running our production financial system on a solaris 8 sparc box and need to ask a couple of questions reagrding recovery if the whole box goes pop!

I have an identical sparc server ready and waiting for the recovery...these are my questions

1) after installing the OS, can i just restore my /oracle/app directory from the backup tape onto the new server for oracle to work or do i need to install from the cd again

2) are there any licensing issues with backing up to an alternative box during DR. ie is oracle9 licensed against any hardware related objects, ie mac address etc

3) I obviously want to test this restore works before the big bang actually happens, in which case, i suppose i would have 2 identical databases (or more importantly 2 copies of oracle9) running on the same network at the same time. Obviously this will get downed as soon as a restore is completed, but as far as anybody is aware are there any technical issues that will prevent me testing my DR in this way

any help would be greatly appreciated

Regards
