Disable Keyboard on an input for a Mobile App

Hello,

We have developed a mobile app with Apex that allows us to scan a barcode and post it back into the input field. This works fine but when we set focus onto the input type the keyboard displays on the device and I can't figure out how to hide this. Has anybody had any experience of this?

We are using Apex 4.2.2 on a Oracle 10g Database and the Apex Listener version 2
