Directory Server 6.1 To Manage Unix Logins?

807573Aug 31 2007 — edited Dec 28 2007
Since 6.1 is running smoothly for our application dev & test environments (jboss, bugzilla, & homegrown stuff), we've decided to go ahead and use LDAP to manage our Unix logins now, mostly Sun boxes with a few Red Hat mixed in.

We're not currently using NIS, just straight local Unix accounts, and we only have about 50 total servers right now, but we are growing so we would like to use LDAP to centralize server logins. It's a very simple environment, with basically two unix groups and only about 30 user accounts.

Is anyone here doing this, and if so can you point me to some GOOD documentation on basic steps that you used to get this going?
