DIM vs. ODI vs. FDM vs. MDM

Has anyone uncovered any documentation on when one application should be used over the other? From my understanding these are all powerful data/metadata transformation and loading tools. I understand that it typically depends on the situation but has anyone run across any documentation on the benefits of using one over the other as well as when one should be considered over the other?
