Different versions between Oracle client e server

Hi.

As a best practice, we always recommend our customers to use the exact same version of Oracle client and server (for instance, to connect to a 10.2.0.3 server, they should use a 10.2.0.3 client) to avoid possible problems.

My question: does that make sense? May we have problems connecting a 9.2.0.1 client to a 10.2.0.3 server, for instance?
