differenece between mm/dd/yyyy and mm/dd/ccyy formats.

hi,

is there any difference between the 2 date formats .mm/dd/yyyy and mm/dd/ccyy formats.
select to_char(sysdate , 'mm/dd/yyyy') from dual returns 07/22/2011

and 

select to_char(sysdate , 'mm/dd/ccyy') from dual retruns 07/22/2111
how to differenetiate or analyse both.
